Any opinions on desk setup for WFH. Trying to optimize my home office setup.

I am a Technical Project Manager and Certified Scrum Master with cloud computing and migration experience. I am looking for referral primarily in Atlanta, GA but will also consider remote elsewhere.

HR opinion: Do I have any leverage as a hospital nurse case manager in negotiating earned time? I have 15 years within the organization, left for 10 months to be remote during the pandemic while sorting out childcare as immunocompromised family helped. Now HR is restarting my ET as a new employee. I realize I left, but not on bad terms and I am an exemplar and respected employee. I thought I’d have the upper hand with the nursing shortage but I’m getting the “rules are rules” response. Help!?!

I am looking to transition to a lower acuity position such as pre op, or honestly work remote as the work life balance is not fulfilling for me. Had a scratchy throat yesterday that has since gone, low grade fever all day today (99-99.9). Have felt off and spacey today, and had a headache which went away after taking Advil. Have an appt to get covid testing tomorrow. Test is thru my doc office and they said they’d have results within 24 hrs. Even so, I currently have severe anxiety about all of it. Anyone have advice for how to cope until I know exactly what’s going on with me? I feel like this stress isn’t good for my immune system.

My wife and I just had our second child, and we have also been dealing with her cervical cancer diagnosis. It has been a stressful year, to say the least. I want to do something nice for her, but money is tight right now because of the cancer treatment costs, and her being on unpaid leave because of the cancer treatments. What is something low cost I can do that will be a nice “couples thing” so we can de-stress, but also make her feel special?
