I got my kids Steelcase Series 1 chairs when the pandemic started. They’re not kid-sized chairs (my kids are 12 & 14)...sort of base-level ergonomic chairs. But we’ve been really happy with them.

Had an employee request a standing desk due to back problems. went through the ADA process & the employee obtained a doctor's note to support their request. However, the note was questionable. it was from an acupuncturist, on a word doc, no real signature and just said that a standing desk would prevent pain & improve their productivity, nothing about him not being able to work without it. Thoughts? Also, what do you think about having certifications from non-traditional doctors?

So, any NON standing desk recommendations? I don’t really like standing desks. I’d like something that looks decent, that has at least some storage, with a good amount of… square footage, I guess?

Hi guys! My H1B just got approved on PP today and I’m ecstatic! Sending good vibes to everyone waiting. I’m quarantining in a different state than home office and wondering whether if I ask lawyers to file LCA for 10/1 and it gets denied, does that revoke my H1B entirely or am I still good and can continue just in my approved location? I see people mentioning getting RFEs on LCAs and I’m confused

What office chair do people recommend? Does anyone have a home office chair they really like??

RFE on my H1 extension asked for how I split my time between client site and home office. I do Mon-Thurs travel as most consultants. Should I be more concerned as this sounds like a red flag to USCIS?

Need for travel has been one reason why some of our jobs could not be outsourced to remote delivery & low cost off-shoring. If travel is fully or >50% eliminated, it can be a real threat to management consulting as we know it. So there needs to be an “optimal ratio” of travel to client locations, home office, and WFH, to protect our consulting models. Since we need some face time with clients, and some interaction with colleagues, the optimal balance should be possible. Share your thoughts.

Herman Miller Sayl anyone ? Really need a new office chair, but a little hesitant on spending the money. I do spend so much of my time in the chair these days though, so splurging is probably OK. Just need to know if this chair is really worth it cause I sure as hell am not going through a return process.

Partners/MDs, did you stay in consulting because you really like what you do, or did not manage to leave (eg, tried to leave but did not find compelling enough opportunities?) I’m one step away from making partner (likely 2 more years). Tried to leave 3 times - every time after a few interviews I came back and continued to suck up, because nothing was compelling enough (eg slower trajectory, more risks, or “lifestyle upgrade” is not much - everyone seems to work hard). Wonder how others think
