It's the second largest city in Texas, but definitely feels like the most country/Texan. Has deep Hispanic roots. The nightlife isn't as great compared to the other 3 cities in texas, but Austin's only like an hour away.
There's a six flags there though.
Your comp will go very far there especially with no state income tax and it's cheapest out of the 4 major cities. I'd personally recommend Dallas for affordability and decent nightlife.
Second largest city but 3rd largest metro area (only a bit bigger than Austin but they are still just a little more than an hour away from each other). Much smaller than DFW/Houston. Has a fun downtown/riverwalk and some cool nearby neighborhoods. Definitely the place with the most interesting history in Texas. A lot of Texans from other metro areas view it as a second home. Not much bad to say about it at all, just a bit weaker economy than the other 3 of the “Big 4” Texas metros. For example, EY has quite a few people located there but mostly at a Service Delivery Center. Agree with the deep Hispanic roots, also a lot of military in the area.
