Everyone’s too afraid to answer cause they’re probably tracking these threads.
DMs are welcome 🙃
If you like doing high caliber advertising and enjoy working with competent advertising people, you’re better off avoiding Facebook. Their in-house group pretty much exists to churn out lowest common denominator sales materials that are basically on par with what you’d be making if you worked at Kinkos.
Except you’ll be making maximum wage and eating like a king!
Hey CD2, totally see your side.
Ultimately I’m growing really skeptical of our industry, specially the giant players (Ogilvy, BBDO, DDB, VMLY&RZETDF, Publicis, etc). It just looks like a never ending shit show, and no one has a clue about where to go. Some are shrinking, others laying off, merging, buying, selling, but nothing seems like a solid plan or vision for the near future. And what’s most frustrating about this whole thing...if you really take a second to evaluate the work our industry has been doing...there are probably only 2-3 shops that somehow are managing to make meaningful stuff, the rest are becoming Pharma agencies or creating desperate stunts for sexy brands (probably for free) to show how “innovative” and non-tradicional they think they are.
Anyways, just venting here. Thanks a lot for your input, it’s great to hear from both sides.
You will be much happier
@F1 Can you elaborate? get that the overall work environment is probably much nicer and less stressful, but what about the type of creative campaigns you guys work on? is it fulfilling or is it mostly tactical stuff and selling ad space/formats to agencies and clients?
