Investing in big law: I just started working and since student loan interest is frozen, how do we invest that money in the meantime? I had an internship at a federal department in school but after that went 2L SA/firm. Any hope of finding something? What do firms actually look at when evaluating people for partnership? I feel like the majority of partners in my section lack organization, leadership ability, management skills, or even good client management skills. It seems more like they were just the ones that stuck around and kept billing a ton. Is this the norm?

This job is a lot better if you don't care about the bonus and hours requirement. I can pretty easily bill 1700 hours annually and my firm so far hasn't cared in the slightest. Worrying about hitting 2000 hours for the bonus used stress me out so much, and I just don't think it's worth it. Base salaries are ridiculous and way more than enough to finance my lifestyle.

Someone needs to explain to me why I need to urgently (like yesterday) explain a matter to the people running the specific part of the deal (noting to them that OC’s request is nonsense because Y) only to be copied two days later - “my colleague X will provide”.
