Any tips on how to approach an intern who was unprofessional and ticked off your judge? Is it worth having that conversation, or do we just let the intern crash and burn?

Have a casual chat where you tell them, calmly, the specific unprofessional behavior, say that that’s not typically done and it would be better for them if they didn’t do that going forward

The point of an internship is to learn, and unless it demonstrates poor character (bigotry, lying, etc.) just tell them

I would also bring it up with the intern

It’s an intern…what are you afraid of exactly? You’re their boss. Practice managing juniors, you’ll have to do it at the firm, might as well do it now. If you like the intern (on a personal level), you’ll do them a huge favor. And if you don’t, get rid of the deadweight. Chambers is too much work to be dealing with shenanigand or interns lacking basic executive functioning.

I went to a T14 law school, got great grades and glowing recommendations, and wrote (what I thought was) a great writing sample. But I got rejected from all 70 federal clerkships I applied to. The only thing I can think of is: I took a non traditional route after law school and did a 2 year public interest fellowship in a niche field of administrative law. The rejection gave me a lot of self hatred. I still really want to clerk. Any advice? What is wrong with me? I feel like a failure.
