Average performer and diagnosed after 1y+ as C, medication helped but it takes time to fully adapt to it and its side effects. Its definitely a battle

Depends on the project and stream. Some cases were so boring (to me) I had to record every meeting because my mind escaped the room and other were so great I was hyperfocused

Quick response: High performer, here. I’m burnt out, overcompensate with working hard, and put too much emphasis on achievement. I care too much about work and want to resolve all issues macro and micro. I am also gifted at strategy. Still, I am trying to create better boundaries and have better WLB. Sometimes, it feels so good to go into deep work. You just have to know your brain, how you work, and create systems that work for you. Much of what we do is project based, so that allows for novelty and excitement. If you find an area you love- specialize in it and enjoy the dopamine. Take advantage of the learning opportunities to keep yourself excited and engaged during slower times.

In the same boat. I am constantly working late and hyper focus on stuff and lose track of time. I am not good at setting boundaries, too afraid to say no, I take on too many things and cannot deliver on what I promised because I have too much on my plate. WLB is non existent. Burnt out is real. Looking for suggestions to make this better or potential exit opps that work for our brain

Not exactly MBB, I work at S&. I haven’t found it to be an issue other than an endurance thing. So I just get smart with how I use my time so I don’t face a day that requires a ton of endurance.

What about attention to detail when you don’t understand the project context? Do you ever find yourself in that situation?

Hmm I used to be. Then ptsd made my adhd worse..:

Networking: I’m trying to build a network with MBB employees but I’m searching for roles in another country where I’ve got minimal school connections. Should I start by building a network in my home country and ask them if they can put me in touch with someone in my target location? Or just go straight to people in my intended location with cold requests/emails? Thoughts and views welcome!

Macro tracking & body building experts - what should my macros & calorie count be if I want to lost 10-15 lbs? I'm 142 (due to stress and hormonal changes).

I want to get down to 128lbs.

My scale's app says my BMI is 25.3 - just hitting into the overweight bar & 19.8% fat.

Used to be around 23 BMI and 18% fat pre-pandemic in 2019.

I tried the macro calculators but I'm getting mixed guidance

Is there such things as FP&A positions in Big 4? If so, are there better times to make the change than others (I.e. at senior vs manager)? I’m currently in FP&A and looking to work at a Big 4, or another company that offers the ability to move abroad. My current company and many others I know about do not offer the mobility to do so until much later, which is not what I want. Thank you.

How do people deal with manipulative/controlling in laws? I truly love my wife and we always thought our relationship with her parents would change after marriage and now 4 years later with a kid on the way, it hasn’t. They feel the need to make passive/aggressive comments that they basically think I’m a slave driver for insisting that she has her own career and keep working. They legitimately cannot believe she wants to be more than a stay at home mom. Frustrated to the point of depression.

How do you deal with the following - 1) lack of general organization in life, note taking, keeping track of your relationships and 2) attention to detail. These 2 things have been bothering me a lot. Also I feel the lack of organization in personal life blows into professional as well. If you are a consultant how do u deal with it ?

Had my 1:1 with my People Lead yesterday to prepare for talent discussions. Said I had a great year - but need to work on being consistent. She said when I’m engaged it’s great but need to keep it going. I’ve mentioned my ADHD previously but I’m sure she doesn’t know all the components of what that means. We’ve had org issues - no clear role descriptions or expectations. Yes I do have a hard time staying engaged (and I’m medicated - Vyvance in the am, dextroamphetamine at noon). Thoughts?

My psychiatrist today revealed to me that I may have ADHD, still a hypothesis that he is still exploring but from my personal experiences and discussions with therapist, it seems likely.

One example of personal experience is my ongoing prep for case studies as I'm interviewing with a number of firms. I do struggle to keep focus and generally take a bit longer to finish them, specifically the structuring of the case. Does anybody else feel the same way and any recommendations to overcome this?

First day of 30mg vyvanse today. Had a rush of energy and hyperfocus (too much so) about 2-4 hours in, but had a complete crash 5hrs after taking the pill (just a wave of fatigue, felt very good after a quick 15min nap actually) and not sure if it had any effect after. Is this normal? Should I stick it out for a few days or is this a big sign that I’m not on the right meds/dose? Nervous to keep trialling this during the workday since a midday crash is not ideal. Appreciate any advice!
