Anyone else dealing with anxiety around the uncertainty of continued remote work? We were so dysfunctional and unproductive in the office, the thought of going back is giving me nightmares.

Licensed in LA, moving to IL, Employment Agreement is with the US sub (DE) of a foreign company (Canada), where both the sub and parent are fully remote companies with 0 physical offices. Two questions: 1) Am I required by IL or DE to apply for a limited in-house license? 2) Has anyone heard of similar situations where the atty got popped for UPL? I’m in tech transactions and would not go to court in this role or represent the company outside of contract negotiations.

Living outside of NYC and remote interviewing for a job, landing an offer, then relocating to NYC -> anyone ever done this?

I was just informed after the third round of interviews they’d like at least 5 references, two must be supervisors. My last job was a temporary remote job where I didn’t really interact with my supervisor and the jobs before that were at my family’s business (I do not speak to any of them for serious personal reasons.) Anything before that was grad school and I haven’t kept in contact with any professors from over five years ago. What should I do? 😕

If everything is done using WFH.. then why there is need sending employees to onsite?

I lateraled into a niche practice group in Sept 2021. I also have a 1 year old and have been mostly remote since I started - but have been keeping busy tracking towards 2400-2500 hours. Hi, I'm an employee at a hotel chain who works remotely. I've been working remotely for over a year now and I love it! The company I work for is very supportive of remote workers, which is great.

But there's one thing that's been bothering me: it's hard to get feedback on my work when I'm not in the office. It would be great if there was some kind of system that let me know how my performance was being evaluated while I'm working on projects from home.

I’ve become negative about my life and can only think how I’ve been wronged, how I’m stuck, and frustrations w/ various circumstances in my life. They all feel connected in a cycle I can’t escape bc it’s all cause and effect ending up back where it started. I can’t find where to break the toxic cycle of negative in my life or how to make those circumstances better. I feel my life has backed me into a corner. I’m aware I’m playing victim and not taking charge of my life. Advice on breaking free?

My last therapist keeps coming up in my mind. I left her when I moved to a new area before COVID dug in and frankly it felt like leaving a girlfriend. She also disclosed in the final session that she was a member of AA and knew several of the people I occasionally discussed from the rooms. Her knowledge of the program certainly built trust with me early on, but it has been two years. I discussed it with my current therapist but she’s still in there. Any advice?

How do you deal with a boss that wants you to quit and is becoming increasingly more abusive. But you haven’t found a job yet and need this job financially.

There’s no reason you have to put up with a job you hate. I spent many years working in a toxic environment with a boss who gossiped and lead through fear. He wasn’t really much of a leader but basically a foreman. And he could make my existence miserable. I admit that it wasn’t easy to find another job but the bottom line is: trust your guts. If you feel something is wrong it’s because it probably is. Don’t second guess yourself. Look for options and and fight for your mental health.

Exhausted by entitled clients that are just plain nasty. Is it just me or are clients everywhere getting more demanding and treating their agencies worse?
