There’s a special place in 72andSunny for these types.
As an in house creative, the agencies I work with are often executing and adjusting their work based off of the creative boundaries and brief I am guiding them through. In my personal experience the agency is functioning as an extension of me and my team, so I'd be rather peeved if they tried to erase my name off of the work.
I’ve seen all sorts of people put all sorts of stuff in their books they had nothing to do with. We all act like it’s unacceptable, but I can’t say I’ve ever heard of anyone doing anything about it or it really coming back to bite someone. The people I know that stole work are doing fine…and with no real mechanism to hold people accountable, stealing work is just part of advertising I guess? Maybe we’re supposed to be flattered they thought our work was worth stealing lol?

Edelman is well known for trying to take credit for campaigns when all they did was the social 🙄
Weren’t they the client on the project?
Nope. The client was the client. And they led the work. This was a Creative who was just in their internal creative dept.
They paid for it, it’s theirs. If they had come up with the award-winning creative, it would belong to their company. It’s the equivalent of intellectual property ownership by the company. What’s stopping you from putting it on your personal website?
