You know there's a FIRE bowl, right?
MOST people in this bowl will never think about FIRE, let alone achieve it.
Figure out how much you need to cover all expenses each year and divide by 3% to get a rough idea.
$5M , but if i wasn’t a single parent with two kids , i would say 2.5
Dream number is $20M, not a retirement goal. Just lifelong.
$2.5 million is my target. I should easily be able to reach that goal by age 60.
I’m at $2m now, I def wouldn’t be able to call it quits yet, I have 30 working years left, my goal is prob $10M

I find the dream moves over time. But once you get to some single digit million amount (varies by person) you have more optionality.
