Hi Fishes/Sharks,
Can someone please tell me how is the hiring process of Credit Suisse??
I had my 1st interview last to last week and after that no communication till now. And no update on my application on the portal.
I have heard the hiring process is very slow here. Is this true? How long would they take to schedule the 2nd round (if I am shortlisted).
Please advise.
TIA.

I interviewed at around 3 months pregnant. Once I had the offer, I confirmed that maternity leave started right away but did not disclose my pregnancy. I started when I was about 5 months pregnant because conflicts took forever to clear. I told my managing partner week 2. Took leave eventually and everything worked out!
Unless you’re obviously pregnant, I wouldn’t disclose until after an offer. Firms aren’t supposed to discriminate based on pregnancy status but I wouldn’t risk it.
I will say it’s hard being PP at a new firm. No one really knows your work product, and you’re fighting to build a solid reputation while also fighting to survive. I’m 9 months PP, and with pumping and everything, I’m up around 5:30 or 6 to pump and spend some time with baby, work until 5:30, then hang out with baby until 7, and work from 7:30 until 11:30 or midnight every night with baby waking up every night at 2 am. It’s awful. All that to say I almost wish I would have stayed at my old firm where I wouldn’t have really cared about hitting hours or anything. My old firm sucked so it probably wouldn’t have been a real option though.
I’m 3 weeks back from maternity leave and I agree. This would be so much harder if I were trying to build a reputation
I don’t know the details but know we lost an associate a few months before they went out on leave, but I think it was at least a few months (maybe even closer to 5 months left). I assume they negotiated parental leave at the new firm during the offer. I’m not sure how viable that is for most (think there may have been recruited directly). I think depending on how far along you are would dictate how I would handle. But I would assume any firm with advance knowledge of impending leave would shy away from hiring so typically best to conceal until offer in hand.
Found out I was pregnant in the middle of trying to lateral. I found out right after signing on with a recruiter and her applying to a bunch of firms on my behalf. I must have been 10 weeks during my first screener call with the partners, and by my first day I was 20 weeks pregnant. I'm a couple weeks in and haven't disclosed yet but I'm getting to the point where I look pregnant and not just chubby so I'll have to disclose soon. The issue is my firm requires 12 months to be eligible for maternity leave. When I asked my recruiter if I should try and negotiate maternity leave in as part of my offer, she said it's not worth potentially souring the onboarding process and that no firm of this caliber / market (Bay Area BigLaw) would actually refuse to give me full maternity leave even if I've only been with them 5 months. So fingers crossed when I disclose in a couple weeks it will be chill...
Hope it goes well!
Doing this now. TBD but so far not going well. I feel sick and tired everyday and interviewing has been an even more exhausting process than in the past.
Sorry to hear. Keep pushing
