Hi Fishies! (Is that what we are? I’m going with it) I just came across a Google Research and Insights role that got me SUPER excited and I was about to apply when I had the idea of seeing if anyone would be willing to give me a referral. I understand (and respect) that most of you Googlers on here feel that a referral is only useful if you know the person but I would be happy to jump on the phone to give you some info about me. It would mean so much! 4 YOE at a major audio steaming service

Be ready to answer why you want to be in public service (beyond just work life balance)
Be ready to answer why you want the particular job. Also, be ready to answer a slew of behavioral questions (a time when you ….). If it’s an entry level position they probably won’t care too much about technical knowledge (though, if you have that, even better). They will care about your prior experience and how you applied yourself there to show your ability to overcome challenges, etc, and transferable skills.
Make sure any of the answers you give or your general description of work history include some of the words from the posting. A few standard questions 1. Why do you want to work in public service 2. Why do you want to work at that agency 3. When is a time when you had a difficult supervisor and how did you handle it 4. Give one word or several words on how your coworkers would describe you 5. Give a time when you a supervisor wasn't listening to your opinion and what did you do about it 6. Tell me about yourself GOOD LUCK
