Does it violate any ethical rules for federal attorneys to use services like FedRooms (specifically the leisure travel options)? My instinct is no, but I do not have a great handle on the ethical rules federal attorneys must follow.

Our ethics training said we can use fed employee discounts so long as they are generally available to all federal employees.

I bet you nobody really knows...I've seen different answers in different places.

You can call up fedrooms and ask. I believe some people did and they were told it was fine.

The likely issue with booking leisure travel at the fedrooms rate is that it potentially can eat up a certain number of reservations set aside for the government rate, thereby denying the government a discount. Thats speculation on my part though based on my understanding of how airline fares are structured.

Fedrooms is affiliated with the government. How would it possibly be an ethics violation to use a government program in the way it’s instructed to use?

(1/2) I started a new job less than a month ago at a large firm with a significant pay increase. I work remotely- which is a special arrangement. They paid for my travel to their headquarters for in-person training. After interacting with my manager and some of the attorneys, I feel like I made a mistake. Manager is demeaning and rude. A bunch of the attorneys dropped not so subtle hints that people who work from home are causing all kinds of problems. I don’t know what to do.

Hello All,

I bought CER006 on Nov 21 with my current company email id and completed one certification. I am leaving my current organization and I still have 9+ months time left for CER006. My company says the s user id provided by them will get de-activated once I leave (in a week). I have not claimed the amount also. Is there any way I can transfer the certification to my personal email I'd so that I can write other exams in time left?

Is it too late in our lives to jump into a mortgage?

So my fiancée and I are relatively late in terms of finally landing well paying jobs and being able to save money instead of living paycheck to paycheck. We’re both 36 and currently rent a 2 bedroom in NY and have a combined savings of $35,000 which she wants to use as a down payment on a condo. I kinda just wanna continue saving while renting. I also literally just started contributing to my 401K so I’m also late in the game for that too.
