Cows are fenced in by very weak, wooden fences that simply create a visual barrier and make them feel like they can't get out. Just a little encouragement, opportunity and confidence would allow them bust right through that fence with ease. You have very transferable and relevant skills to the market, and if you don't, go learn them. Then go bust through that fence.

Not at all, but I mostly do disputes (valuation/financial modeling) which is probably one of the most sought after skillsets in finance/accounting.

I’m sure there’s some more niche areas in forensics that could be more limited, but it’s all about how you market yourself at the end of the day

No, why do you feel pigeonholed?

These are some of the most interesting pigeon holes in the world. I started my career doing forensic accounting on WTC after 9/11 and it has led to a very specialized knowledge base within construction fraud prevention. Wouldn't change a thing, and I thoroughly being regarded as an expert in the industry.

You've got a chance to develop a very special expertise that not everyone is capable of doing. Run with it as far as you can.

I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!

I'm getting a MAcc to career change to forensic accounting. What opportunities are available to me with a data analytics heavy MAcc? I'm also tacking on 2 graduate certificates in Applied Statistics and International Economic Policy? For those in the field, would that be useful or not useful (i.e. waste of time)? I'm interested in investigations but also analytics, financial modeling, and expert witness services. Throw in salary potential for bonus points. I'll be getting my CPA, CFE, and CAMS.
