Anyone feel that juries make up the decision right after openings?

Nope, at least not in complex cases. They definitely start to form opinions during openings but individually and connectively they usually move back and forth until deliberations.

They might but I’ve seen multiple juries say they changed their minds after hearing the instructions right before deliberations. Until they learn the law they are supposed to apply, they can’t make a final call

like

Not even on jury duty and my mind is already made up. Definitely guilty.

funny

Definitely juror 10.

There was a study of juries more than 40 years ago that unfortunately supported this. The study supported that juries relied mostly on “primacy” and “recency”, first and last, so that whatever was heard first and last was more important. Still, with mock juries, a scary percentage made up their minds after hearing the opening statements.

Hi fishes,

My joining date mentioned in IBM Offer letter which I received just a while ago is second week of November, 2021. However, I have 90 days notice period. It also says to accept within 3 days and a clause is written that joining date can be revised only till 5 days. Will ibm revise my joining date ? I am very anxious it's too late so I cant even call recruiter.

Please suggest.
