Since none of the comments thus far have been helpful, I’ll try to be.
I’d go to psychologytoday.com, filter by your zip code, insurance, preferred gender, any speciality areas you’re looking for (trauma, relationships, identity etc.) and start reading profiles to see who clicks with you. Reach out to at least five to check their current availability for new clients and set up an initial 15 minute phone consult to see if they’d be a good fit.
From there, it can take some trial and error. It’s kinda like dating, may find the right match on the first go or you may realize after 2-3 sessions that therapist isn’t for you. It helps going into it knowing what style works for you best. Do you want someone who’s more active and asks probing questions or perhaps one who’s passive and lets you do 95% of the talking?
This is how I found my therapist that I’ve been seeing for almost 3 years
I do not, no.
Have you considered going to the gym and setting up a regular routine to follow?
Yep! Still a crazy world, though
Everyone’s needs are wildly different. What are you looking for?
Thank you so much
Have you considered getting a cat or a puppy??
Not always a good idea. A pet can be a lot of added stress and OP is clearly trying to look out for themselves and get into a good place first which I think is a lot more responsible.
Emily Balentine at Midwest Counseling.
Thank you!

Lots of different types of therapists out there and some specialize in certain conditions (for instance, a very incomplete list: https://www.verywellhealth.com/types-of-psychotherapists-5188864). Might want to narrow it down as to what you're looking for help for, or the type of help you think you'd find most effective, for better results to your question.
Thank you!
Annabeth Chickering or any of her colleagues at Inner Choice. Mary Beth Johnson at Wildwood also excellent.
Thank you very much
