I have a little less than $30,000 in a “Pension Cash” fund of my previous employer. When I say cash, this is truly cash - the ~$30K will sit and continue to rot until I turn 55. Not tied to anything in the market. The firm is adamant that I cannot withdraw/roll over this money under any circumstances until I hit 55. Anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice on possible options to gain access to the funds?

Hi Everyone! I currently have a Master's in Healthcare Administration and work on the Payor and Physician side at a large health system. I have experience being in the front-end of Revenue Management and back-end of Revenue Analytics. I would like to embark on the Healthcare consulting career, and am currently seeking for any opportunities at a Healthcare consulting firm. I have about 30% of my 401K in a target date fund which hasn’t moved the needle much. Wondering if I should “sell” 10% of the target date fund, hold money in a money market and then wait for a dip to buy more S&P. Note - this is all done within the 401K portfolio. I am not cashing out of 401K.
