Anyone here have experience as a General Magistrate? A position recently opened up in my large metro area. I’m considering applying. I have been a solo for the last decade made close to $150k this year the pay for this position is slightly less than that. The position entails hearing of post judgement family law matters to which I have experience in. Can anyone advise how you like the position if at all and how the transition was for from a traditional lawyer to pseudo judge?

Hello, I’m a Physical Therapist (DPT) and am considering going back to school for my MBA. I’m hoping to pivot out of patient care and into a more corporate/leadership role. Technically, I'm not a college student anymore because I just graduated in December. I am having trouble finding jobs within my field (Communications with little experience in marketing). I've gotten plenty of interviews, but none of them have made it past the first formal interview (phone screening then interview). Any advice?

Hello Guys,

I joined
Cognizant recently, the project interview calls which I am getting is not from my base location.
I have the location constraint, should I wait for the right opportunity or raise this concern to ADP team so they can look in to it?

As per ADP policy, one should not have any constraints and take the project as FCFS basis.

It's super frustrating to be "time poor".

That's seemingly just the nature of working in Biglaw.

But every day you have the option to buy back your time.

How do you buy back time?

It's simple—by saving and investing.

And you don't need to be uber wealthy to regain control of your time.

So… 3.5 year relationship came crashing in Jan due to covid depression, work burn out, lockdown etc. We have stayed in contact and recently he has come around to apologizing and considering getting back together. However he also revealed he started seeing someone casually 4 weeks ago and technically is cheating on her by meeting me for coffee and to discuss this. I’m upset that he’s dating others but shouldn’t be right? I mean, I did the same. Still hurts though. And I told him to sort that out

Last associates committee meeting is coming up. Partners have asked each associate to come up with... not one... but FIVE marketing ideas. Other than reeling out “we offer competitive pay” in job postings, what are some good ones your firm does?

I’m struggling a bit. If I knew how to market well, I certainly wouldn’t be in this position.

I am looking for the post made by the junior associate with the voicemail from the female partner on a Friday night telling her how stupid she is. I didn’t bookmark the voicemail and I wanted to show it to a colleague to show her there are worse bosses than ours. Lol. It was circulating a couple of months ago. I believe it was a New York firm.

Transactional associate. Lateraled 6 months ago and one of the biggest pain points has been my new firm’s inclination to “hop on a call”, which of course requires every single stakeholder to join. The end result being every call has 25 people on it and nothing actually gets done because no one wants to ask a question that could come off as silly. It’s destroying my ability to get anything done during the day. It’s a complete performance and it drives me nuts.
