I was there for 2 years more recently. They switched from regions to national model, which I didn’t love, but it is indeed a group full of smart people and I learned a lot. Happy with my time spent there. EY raises for tax as a whole seemed really subpar the last two years and this is why I ultimately left but I liked TARAS a lot overall - it was great to get away from the year-round compliance grind as TARAS is more busy in Jan-Feb (year-end), April (Q1), July (Q2), and October (Q3), aka the busy months were focused around year-end and quarterly SEC reporting requirements but we actually had lighter periods in between the busy periods.
You will work on complicated provisions and see a lot of complex stuff that you would originally not be exposed to unless you’re in a speciality ASC 740 focused group such as TARAS.
I sent you a DM - thank you!
I’m currently in EY TARAS and the above assessment is accurate. Great experience, great people, initial compensation was good but my salary increase last year was very poor
I thought it was just me who received a 2% increase with a progressing rating as a senior. That’s wild that SMs who had a better rating than progressing received the same. No wonder there was a mass exodus this fiscal year at the manager and SM levels
Don’t come to EY, you will 100% regret it when your career goals are flushed down the toilet
Yeah I disagree with this too. Working at EY has opened countless doors for me that I otherwise wouldn’t have had
