Hi! I am asking for a friend in tax - “I’ve been in the AWM tax practice for 7 years (4.5 yrs at pwc and 2.5 at private) and am looking to switch to EY’s national tax team (passthrough group). How do they conduct an interview and how technical can it be? Also any general thoughts/ experiences on boomeranging back to big 4 after private? EY PwC

They give you 2yrs from your start date to complete your CPA. If not completed then you do not get promoted to manager or higher level. E.g. if you started as Senior 3 you will make manager as it is within the 2yrs but will be stuck at manager level until you get your CPA. Also your green card process will not begin without a CPA.
Acca is just a certification no where close to CPA … it’s only recognized in commonwealth countries …..
I did part 1 of acca and completed it but never pursued further
COMATCH 1 - not actually true, I joined EY when they were not allowing taking exemptions and I & my colleagues had to take everything starting with F1 (it’s not rocket science but it’s still an exam with its details which you have to spend time studying). I am now halfway through FAR and I can come back with an impression shortly. Giving the fact that the simulations are to me personally easier than the Strategic Business Reporting (ex P level exams) I expect the challenge to be the volume. Up to this moment I can compare FAR to F7 (intermediate) + a little of F9 exams. But maybe by the end of the course I may change my opinion.
Complete ACCA is much harder to pass vs CPA.
In my opinion ACCA worth more.
Another question that in States people are not familiar with ACCA
