First day back in industry! Wish me luck! ❤️
Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?
Do you do it (more) for the pay or for the job?

The breakdowns matter. You want at least a 47 in quant to stack up.
My sense is that a lot of schools don't care, but a quant heavy school (MIT, Tepper) is going to put more weight on quant. (Other schools might too, just saying that your quant needs to stack up for some schools)
I got a 50 in quant but my score was under a 750. Was wondering if the high quant score will help my GMAT stand out more
Maybe - a 750 is really good though. If you can't get into schools with that, your GMAT is not the problem id say.
Mine was a 730. Was just wondering if a higher quant could equal me out with someone who got a 750
I would doubt it. Schools care about your gmat for two reasons - they want to know whether you can cut it in their program, and they care about their avg score. With a 730, you certainly check the first box...a 750 will edge you out on the second. A 730 is a good score though, you'll get into some good schools with that and a consulting background. Would think top 15 for sure, maybe top 5-10. All you little overachievers need to stop stressing. The top 10 schools basically have the same recruiters anyway.
