It would be hard for a company to justify sponsoring a visa for an internship. Do you have a student visa that allows you to work?
Well this is for a student I know. I believe their student visa allows them do grad assistantship and internship. But if they want to get a job at the end of internship period, what’s the best approach to secure sponsorship?
Your student visa should allow you to work as long as it’s for a minimum number of hours a week. You can’t do more than those hours.
Seconding that the graduate would have to search for roles that specifically allow for sponsorship. Many companies and industries have restrictions on “non-US persons”. I’d say this person should be leveraging networking, especially at career fairs, before graduation.
Unless you majored in engineering or IT it’s very hard to secure an internship. Definitely look for consulting firms/firms that sponsor h1b later on.
