How do you hide disdain for your boss who, despite saying he will support your well deserved and earned promotion, does what he can to ensure you don’t get one?

Just put in my resignation because I got an offer with a 50% raise, my manager said she had no ill-will or anything. I log on this morning to a scathing review of a report I wrote, nitpicking every minor detail with senior management copied... Thank God I'm moving on.

I’m considering leaving EY for a 50% comp raise with a boutique consulting firm which would bring my total comp to almost $300K! With that said, this firm struggled prior to the pandemic and seems like a high risk/high reward play given its boutique/no name recognition nature. I feel like I’m playing out a role that my family/friends want me to play. Ex: Wanting to get a promotion for this job that I don’t care about, creating dating profiles to meet guys even though I have no interest in being in a relationship, going out to dinner/drinks with friends and just sitting there completely empty and detached. Corporate junior working at an AmLaw 50. I’m curious, what would you consider to be a brutal billable month? I’m coming up on what will probably be my first 300 billable hour month. This is my 3rd 210+ hour mo. in the 6 mo. I’ve been practicing law. Most of my law school friends in BigLaw are litigation and working stable180-200 hour months, so I’m trying to develop a frame of reference on how many 200-300 hour months corporate attorneys expect annually.
