Do you already possess the fireworks? Texas only allows them to be sold for a short time before Independence Day, and for another short time leading to Christmas and New Year's.
No matter what time of year, it is illegal to possess them within Houston city limits or within the jurisdictions of other municipalities that make possession illegal.
When I was a teen, my friends and I would typically drive out to fireworks stands in NW Harris County, find a big empty parking lot on the legal side of the line (hint: school property is typically empty around the same dates that fireworks can be sold legally), then explode the entire purchase before returning to city limits. But be aware that one year, I had gone to a fireworks stand, intending to buy fireworks, but the cute girl who worked at the stand told me HFD was surveilling from afar with binoculars; I left without buying anything, got pulled over as soon as I entered Houston City limits, and HFD planted a package in my car (in an effort to coerce me to help them close the stand).
Do you know anyone who owns a gun range in an unincorporated area? That might be a good choice to light them. Do you know anyone who has a residence in Sugar Land or West U or Bunker Hill? Places like those with high property tax revenue and relatively quick police response times are BAD choices for setting off illegal fireworks. Middle ground would be somewhere with high crime, like the abandoned Gunspoint Mall, where some cops, if they happen to hear you blowing things up, will be so relieved that you aren't shooting anyone, that just might look the other way during your celebration.
This is quite useful information thanks
