I think you’re asking the wrong question. Comparing hours (or approaches, whatever that means) with whomever came from industry will give you social validation and comfort, but it won’t be of any help as you navigate this job.
Much more important question: what are you trying to accomplish in MBB/T2? Do you want to ride if for a couple of years, get a manager promo and exit for a cushy job? Or do you really want to develop the toolkit and build a successful career in consulting?
If it’s the former, my advice is to continue to do exactly what you’re doing. You’ll get feedback, reviews, and you’ll have time to course correct if needed. Yes, you’re taking a bit more risk, but there’s countless people who made it work in sustainable ways, and preemptive worry won’t be of any help. If it’s the latter, then you definitely need to approach it in a different way; consulting is a reputation based industry, and first impressions matter. Whether people like it or not, top quartile performers go beyond what’s asked, step up and take larger than expected roles, and are reliable to the eyes of their Partners. It’s extremely hard to do that working with an industry mindset/industry hours; I’ve worked with 100+ people and I can count it in one hand those who made it work
Thanks, great advice. I am in the former bucket. The hours are not so much an issue, as in my industry job I would average around 55ish. I always liked working in Industry and it was an experience I cherished. It's more how much I allow my mental health to suffer, and it sounds like the reward on path 2 is so small that it isn't worth it to me. The constant worrying is already pushing me over the edge a bit.

PMI is cush, you got a good first case. The stakes are definitely higher because clients pay a lot of money for your time so consultants always have targets on their back and that pressure cascades down. Stress management is critical, and making manager/partner (and eventually client) with the quality of your work product and ability to communicate should be your first priority. Overdeliver early on to take the pressure off later - first impressions are tough to change in consulting

How old are you? People in their 20s should adjust quickly. You should have a manager guiding you / setting expectations
On my first study, it's a long-term PMI
