i've worked with mikhael before and, in addition to being wildly talented, he's just the absolute nicest human... which makes this all the more enraging.
This should be a warning to all the creatives who jumped ship to go freelance. Lucrative pay but you might get stiffed as more and more shops and agencies close their doors. So many of these new indie shops that run on freelancers are going to fail. Hopefully they do it better, but watch out!

Bankruptcy is a bitch. A lawyer can't do anything once the company is insolvent. Even if they launch again with the same name tomorrow, you have zero recourse.
Everyone go blow this up with support on Linked In and maybe they will feel pressured to do the right thing.
Someone told me file a "cancellation of Debt " or else a 3949-A with the IRS which will flag them for an uncomfortable audit. Not sure if it's true but with a try...
