Hello! I’m new to the city/country and would love know where can I find a financial advisor that can help me navigate the basics in the US (401k, investment plans, taxes). Is there a profession that could do all those things combined?

Currently 25 y/o making 70k/year in Boston. I grew up pretty poor and I have minimal financial education. A lot of my salary now goes towards helping my parents get out of debt. My parents are no longer able to live on their own, so considering selling my grandmas house where they live (maybe 550k), paying off their mortgage (100k) and buying a duplex (between them they make about 55k/year). Is buying a two family home a good investment ? How much can I afford to spend on a new house?

Advice & resources? My spouse and I are starting to make good money (ages 28 & 31, $105k & $70k) with $10k in savings (we were hit hard financially this year) and 2 car payments.

We live in a cheap apartment ($1.3k) that is sh*tty. Don’t quite have a down payment (especially not in ATX). Is it dumb to rent a house for a year at $3k/month while we save up again?

We both didn’t come from $ and are figuring out how to not be idiots 🙃 tbh we would prefer to rent forever but that feels dumb???

Can someone please help me with the reimbursement amount CBA provides for goods transportation?

Incoming MBA, I have my tuition paid for and rent covered (I will be an RA). So the only thing I need to pay for is food and entertainment. Do you think 20k is enough to last me through the 2 years? I will make a little money interning in the summer, so that would be a safety valve if I blow through the 20k.

I'm under contract for a new build in progress that won't be done until much later this year. I fully expect interest rates will be higher than what I originally estimated. I may or may not try to lock in a good rate early, but I'm planning on renting it out and this throws a bit if a wrench in my margins. I had my Assessor interview this past week and received a pre-screening questionnaire that asked about dual citizenship status. Because I don't even have a passport for the country I am a dual citizen for, I didn't even think about the possibile complications this could lead to with my application.
