Stupid Question but what IS tech trans? I’ve seen the chambers/vault articles & firm descriptions but I still don’t get it - are you specialists that support deals? Do you manage M&A/capmkts deals for tech clients? Is it mostly commercial contracts? Is it mostly ECVC? Tech Trans lawyers: what’s your day to day like? How is your practice diff from other Corp practices?

I’m currently a quality control analyst in the biopharma/gene therapy field making 72k base in the Houston area. I’ve been working here for 2 years and my company is well established and the job is easy, but I honestly just want higher pay. I see companies (smaller and larger) that potentially can give me that but would it be worth it? I’m an Environmental Protection Specialist and make pretty good money for what I do. I just feel like I have more to offer than being a worker bee in a system at 25. I work with a lot of retirees and would love to return in my latter professional years. I have my Bachelors in Applied Coastal Environmental Science and want to expand my options. I have 1 job offer that is an hour away and pays 45k, after negotiations (Research Associate Position at a University) .

I have just interviewed for a position closer to home and a base salary of 65k, but haven’t heard back from them in about 2 days (He said he would make a decision by yesterday and I’ve reached out).
