So, I just fired my first employee as a manager and I'm heartbroken. He was a great, great person but after 6 months on a PIP he just wasn't cutting it skills-wise. I know he was the provider of the household and his wife didn't have a job since she was raising three young ones. Needless to say, I had to take off because I felt terrible, sick to my stomach. Made a career pivot to another agency. During the interview we talked about how it may start as initially a "step backwards" (pay/benefits) but has potential for more long term growth. First day was yesterday. Had no communication about when or where to show up, sat in an empty office for about half an hour before a couple people finally showed. No phone call or email. Sent an email to the founder, no response. I could easily get my old job back if wanted.

I rented a house that had been vacant for a bit & the prior tenant didn’t do a thorough job cleaning up. Agent indicated the owner would be open to having the house cleaned but I would need to have the house professionally cleaned when I moved out (that was fine w me). I just received the bill from the owner for $250, which is super annoying bc there was no expectation communicated that I would foot the bill for this, more so bc the cleaner did a LOUSY job.
