Leave it off your resume. This was advice from my manager when I was moving to a new company. He told me if it doesn’t work out and I leave, just leave it off. Said he doesn’t blink at a 6 month or less gap in this economy.
(My manager was amazing. I was laid off so he was giving me advice as a friend and mentor.)
Strange but what if it will cause 10 month to almost a year Gap?
Also what if it could possibly sustain your experiences and without it you might have lower chance to above title such as Senior or Manager ?
You just dont list that job on your resume, also lock your work report. Background check companies will ask for paystub to prove work history. Always work for me for the past 8 years.
If they ask about the gap just say you are taking time off to study, pursue a hobby.
If you are employed somewhere for a year then left, it is not necessarily a bad thing. I jumped job a few times and only 1 year each job. Employer asks but it does not affect my chance. It depends on how you explain. If you think it will be viewed negatively, you can add experience to your previous job and omit this job from your resume.
Job hunt on your own using your previous resume, that doesn't include your current employer. If you left the previous job in good standing and/or had a relationship with your manager pickup the phone or email her/him to humbly ask for your job back. Even if your role has been filled already let them know that if it doesn't workout with their new hire you would like to be considered to come back, then or for another role. If you're used to the help of a recruiter to get you job opportunities I don't have experience with that, but I wish you luck. In the meantime chin up, chest out, and smile. Don't let them know you're miserable.
