Anyone with experience on transitioning a solo practice into a virtual office/remote? This is where we're headed and wanted some tips and/or things to look out for.

If you aren’t already, I’d recommend using calendly to help with scheduling consultations, client updates calls/questions, etc. It helps cut down substantially on time spent by assistants/paralegals calendaring these things, and can also help the attorney focus on doing work instead of fielding calls with needy/nervous clients all day.

My last therapist keeps coming up in my mind. I left her when I moved to a new area before COVID dug in and frankly it felt like leaving a girlfriend. She also disclosed in the final session that she was a member of AA and knew several of the people I occasionally discussed from the rooms. Her knowledge of the program certainly built trust with me early on, but it has been two years. I discussed it with my current therapist but she’s still in there. Any advice?

Had several great interviews at a company. Reached out to internal recruiter a few days ago. No word back. Should I send a LinkedIn message to the person that would be my boss to check in?

I feel left out in my firm. How do I make 'friends' with my colleagues? I've been here for a year. I am naturally not a very out going person, was never 'cool' and I struggle to speak in group situations / make engaging conversation with higher ups. It is an important trait to have in this job and I just don't know how to do this. It makes me very upset - I even sought therapy but wasn't useful. I can't spend 14 hours each day feeling like this:(

Anyone know a good data resource? I’m struggling with an assignment for grad school about collecting and analyzing data. I need to identify an educational problem relevant to my educational setting (ECE-8th music at an urban public school) and analyze existing data that is relevant to the problem in order to draw conclusions. I’m finding great research papers, but not a lot of data I can analyze. TIA

I have a wee crush on one of the partners in my firm and I thought he liked me too, but neither of us did anything about it (which is entirely appropriate). That was all pre-Rona. Now I’m leaving the firm and pursuing another opportunity and staying in the same city. Since he’ll no longer be my boss, is there a way to find out if my feeling was correct? How should I go about this? (Especially given Rona?)

Hi. I’m in need of advice and encouragement. I’m currently working as a public defender(2nd year) but I would love to pursue a solo private practice.
