My wife is trying to get back to work in the bay area after a year of not being in the US(due to covid travel/visa bans). It is very difficult to get a chance to interview and even after interviews not getting an offer(mostly reason being offer was accepted by another candidate) this ends up raising hopes and wasting a lot of time! Any tips on how someone has navigated through these situations and landed a job as a data/business analyst or TPM? TIA
What’s your price to quit right now expressed as a percentage of your total comp? Curious how this differs across firms.
Are thank you notes or emails after an interview still recommended? Or, would they just annoy the interviewer?
For those who exit to industry, do you find recruiters lowball? They often quote a salary based on YOE and their standard pay - often lower because their salary progression is slower. 4YOE at consulting you make $120k~$150k but they quote $100k because that’s how they pay their homegrown analysts. Nobody thus far thinks 4y at consulting is worth 5-6 YOE, I’ve even met someone who only match me to their 2-3 YOE analyst because they think their program is more prestigious and want to hold me back.
Any SEI consultants here? How is the culture and what type of clients/engagements do you work on?
Does anyone have broad insight into the major L&E firms in the NJ area - Ogletree, Jackson Lewis, Littler, Fox Rothschild, Ford Harrison, Constangy? Would be interested in knowing the general reputations, pay, hours, and culture. Thanks in advance!
Are there great Product Management exit opps for Big Tech or something comparable within Chicago and not only the West Coast? Most of the great comp packages I’ve seen are out there and so wanted to get some input if there are 200k+ total comp options here. Currently have 4 yoe, 2 in strategy, and a MS degree if that helps. Thank you!
What are the odds: I randomly clicked at a profile shown here on the networking bar. Upon checking their LinkedIn, it turns out they used to work at the boutique company I’m currently interviewing for (same role!) and left just a month back for a role in industry. Is it OK to reach out to them on here or on LinkedIn and connect with them? Please advise 🙏
Flight was delayed 3 hours last week and they gave me 7,500 bonus miles after I submitted a complaint. Is this the norm for a 3 hour delay? Any tips to get more miles when this happens?
I was offered a Sc at Capco in NY. What is a reasonable salary? Anything I also should consider?
Any insight on Deloitte FDD culture in LA?
Just moved in-house & am hiring a designer - NO clue what salary to propose for this role. Full benefits, mid-level, Chicago-based, mostly designing internal materials (town halls, etc.). Help?
Quoted $100-120K, 10% bonus, no RSU for Sales Strategy & Ops at Salesforce (4.5 YOE). Super lowball right?
Meeting my partner in-person this Sunday for the first time, over lunch at his home. I’m bringing his daughter a little gift, should I bring something for his wife? Is that weird? I was thinking flowers or something. What’s an appropriate gift to bring. In my European culture it’s customary to not show up empty handed to someone’s home for the first time. She’s European also.
Has anyone worked with or working in Mindset Consulting? Need some clarity on work culture and WLB.
Anyone at PwC have any information about Consumer Markets Program & Portfolio Management positions? I have an interview later this week, and am struggling to find specifics on what I would be doing.
I currently work at a firm that pays above market. 12 YOE, people transformation ( culture, not ERP/tech implementation) background. Current total comp is about $140-150k, plus $20k unvested equity. Is this a reasonable salary expectation for my next role: $165-$180 total comp annually, something like: $150k base, 25% bonus, + $30k equity, $25k cash sign on to replace what I’m walking away from in outstanding equity and expected bonus payout for 2021. Hey all, Been out of work for about a year now, been interviewing and actively since being laid off due to companys budget cut. Was in final / decision rounds before covid and everything has been tbd or rescinded since. Responses have been few and far in between and now the year gap is becoming a concern. Would like to ask if anyone has tips or can point me in the right direction. I come from a management consulting/prod mgt background in tech. Disregard the risk consultant title.
There have been many positive changes in my life and while I feel better, at the same time I am scared of losing it soon. Changed to a job that has better culture and aligns with my goals, got more active and social, back to my hobby, able to have free counseling now under new firm's benefits and the new therapist seems more helpful than the ones before, casually seeing some great guys… I feel my mental state is so "hyped" that idk if this "good" feeling will last…
Middle school teachers, what are the “must-have” books in your classroom libraries? I am a special ed resource reading teacher looking for some books that will make my kids WANT to read more!
Just received an offer from Big 4 audit in a major city. But I don’t have driver’s license…
When are background checks done to verify current employment at B4? Also do they contact HR or your manager, worried if they would give a bad review, they don’t know I’m leaving (I’m in industry)
Amazon Senior Program Manager (non-technical) compensation... Could y’all helpful 🐠 help me understand the range for the following: base, bonus, equity. Levels.fyi says for a Senior Product Manager (close enough maybe?) $141k base, $66k annual stock, $18k bonus. Sound accurate?
MBB interview process is on hold but want to keep case prep fresh. How often is case study prep recommended each week to keep it fresh?
Any idea how much equity as a % is offered based on 7 year of Management consulting experience at Datarobot for a director level role? I see their valuation is ~$1B pre-money. Is it worth leaving?
Any Law folks willing to help. My company just rolled out a COVID Survey and indicated the following clause. The completion of the US COVID-19 Vaccination Status Survey is a baseline requirement to be fully eligible for year-end rewards that you would otherwise receive. Failure to fulfill this requirement will result in a 10% decrease to any base pay increase and to any variable pay award (where applicable), submitted for you as part of year-end reward decisions.
Would anyone be willing to give-up 10% of your base salary for a standard 8-5 job in industry?
Looking for volunteer opportunities in the DC area. I swear our reinvest page used to have stuff, but I haven't seen anything on there since Promotion Day. Anyone?

The Merker Group (legal recruiter) - any experience good or bad? A friend is looking to apply for a remote position but he’s the only contact and we can’t find any meaningful info about Kevin Merker or the involved firm. Thanks in advance!
Hi Folks, Anybody recently went through the H1B transfer process? How much time does it take starting from the lawyer reaching out to you and then you receiving the approval.
It will be 4 years in the firm performing analytics, business intelligence & PMO roles including 1.5 years of international client engagement. Is it time to target Manager? How long should I wait?
I am trying to grow my Classroom library. What are some good children’s books with both Spanish and English text?
Ad copywriter who’s freelancing outside of agency world, who do I ask for a reference/review from when finishing up a project? Project leader (who I had minimal interaction with) or day-to-day contact who is lower ranking but actually worked with me beyond the initial interview? At an agency I’d go straight to the CD, but this is a consultancy that doesn’t have that sort of structure.
