I have been reading a few articles talking about how FAANG isn’t as lavish as it used to be. My first question is if that is true? If it is true, my second question is what companies out there have the pay, benefits, and perks like FAANG? My last question is if it is as difficult to get into those companies? People don’t come to slalom for the comp. they come to get off the road, more work life balance, or if they are in tech, they come for some cool work.
At that level, it’s a tougher move to slalom. You’d likely want to come in as a SOlution Principal or maybe even practice lead if you’re already a director. Lots of tech, some retail, some biotech. It’s a pretty big market. Recently split into two with East Bay being carved out
I’m actually not at big 4. Used it as a reference as my role/title would be equivalent. I like that there are lots of tech projects. What can I expect in terms of comp? Would I be able to hit 300k by any chance?
Likely not. Depending on if your a solution principal or practice area lead, you’ll be between mid 100 to mid 200. Slalom is definitely cheap on comp
Yeah I really don’t many folks are hitting 300. Might be market specific like maybe NYC or something. You probably don’t hit those numbers at the MD Level
Umm. Maybe I should just try to join tech then... more upside in comp it seems
