My sister is a claims adjuster and has some complications from covid. Heart damage, and long covid which acts like ME/CFS. She tried RTO for a month and ended up off for 3 months (including a few hospital trips) because the exertion destroyed her. She can pace herself and manage her conditions when working from home, but insurance industry remote jobs have dried-up. She is about to move back in with our parents.

Working at home has been one of the biggest cultural shifts since Covid. Those who are against it really need to get in line with the benefits.

I was just talking to my friend yesterday about this. He went from full remote to five days in the office and is HATING IT! Struggling with sleeping well and resting as it is. The stress of the commute has made it worse. It’s surprising to realize we used to do this every day like it was nothing.
No family members, got a friend who definitely is though. He was fully remote for years, then had to fully RTO on short notice near the end of last year. He's young-ish and physically able to do it, but it's taking a toll on his mental health. He seems stressed and depressed every time I see him, which is a lot less often these days. RTO mandates are trash.

They really are trash and pointless. I just wish leadership wouldn’t lie about why they are doing them and just admit they need to justify having the offices and not trusting staff to be productive at home.
