A lot of people here seem to glamorize MANGA positions - good pay, and good WLB. There has to be a catch, right?

I feel burnt out by how ruthless the tech industry in US is, but I also know I’m making much more money than people outside of tech or consulting.

How do you adjust your WLB?
I’m so burnt out that I wish I could yell at people who were not kind or supportive to me, but those people often unfortunately were in position of power.
I don’t like unkindness, but my anger is just very bottled up…
What can I do to stay level-headed even when the other side is disrespectful?

What’s the word on the street about work life balance at Edelman? Are the hours insane?

I've been editing for a long time, but I'm brand new to agency life. I was hired as a FT in-house editor, but 9mo later, I'm absolutely drained (I come from publishing, which was not nearly as brutal)... and while I love the work and the people, I just canNOT anymore with the hours. Is it easier to set limits and have a life as freelance? What happens to rate if I already have an established salary? Do I just need to bow out of this industry if I want my life back?

I have a Q that I worry is going to make me sound like a jerk, but want some opinions. I do strength training 2x/wk with a trainer who was assigned to me at a gym where I bought a pack of sessions. Hope it's a long weekend for many of you?

I joined a new consulting firm and have been here for 6 months. Recently, a SaaS client (1k employees) that hired my old consulting firm reached out to me about a job opening - Lead BA working primarily to implement their benefit admin system for insurance companies. My current TC is 95k. Is it worth making the jump if the offer is north of 110k? Anything I should look out for? The client and coworkers were all nice, but I remember being stressed on the project due to limited resources.

If you do billable work on a given PTO/vacation day, do you still count that day as vacation? Or do you get that vacation day "back"? Or do you only get the part that you billed "back"? (Or some other option.)
