While community management is a growing field, there may be some industries that are slower to adopt this role. Here are a few examples:
Healthcare: While many healthcare organizations have a strong social media presence, they may not have dedicated community managers to engage with patients and the broader community.
Non-profits: Non-profit organizations often rely heavily on social media to build awareness and raise funds, but may not have the resources to hire a full-time community manager.
Government agencies: Some government agencies have begun to recognize the importance of community engagement and are starting to hire community managers, but this is not yet widespread.
Higher education: Colleges and universities often have large and engaged communities, but may not have dedicated community managers to nurture these relationships.
Manufacturing: While some manufacturing companies have begun to use social media to connect with customers and the broader community, this is not yet standard practice.
It's important to note that the need for community management can vary widely within each industry and organization. Some companies may recognize the value of community management and invest in these roles, while others may not see the need or have the resources to support them.
Of course! Just look at other government agencies. We know for sure that they need our help and services but they rarely employ one. I think it's because they pass the duties to other employees.
Non-profit organizations need our help more than anyone else. We know the ins and outs of social media and we know how to effectively handle people. However, most of them do not have the budget to hire a community manager.
I think one of the industries that need our services is the healthcare industry. They need to establish a strong social media presence. And for them to do that, they need us.
