No, you're not the only one. I've had clients who expect pages to grow at an unrealistic rate and it can be really frustrating. Sometimes you just have to explain to them that SEO takes time and that you can't guarantee results overnight.
This is a common issue that web developers face. Some clients seem to think that pages can be magically created and will grow at an alarming rate without any effort on their part. Unfortunately, this isn't the case.
I wish my clients understood that pages take time and effort to grow, and there is no guarantee that they will ever reach a certain level of growth. I can't do it all for them if they're not willing to let me work effectively!
Just short sighted, spoiled people. They want everything fast and they don't care about building sustainable models for growth. Just stay away from people like that

Nope, I get my fair of out of touch clients but it's all part of the job I fear
people are still coming to terms with understanding the potential of digital marketing. This should stop happening as much once it become way more standard and it better understood by the general population
Clients seem to think that they are paying for immediate results. I tell them it's like a gym membership. You need the gym membership to get the ball rolling, but it still takes consistent work over time to see results. Social media presence is important, but the ROI is slow.
