I’ve been looking for this for a long time and haven’t found anyone

While there are a few exceptions, most companies don’t use recruiters for in house roles simply because they don’t have to. They get hundreds of applicants for every role. So most of the time it wouldn’t make sense for them to have to pay a recruiting fee for applicants they get on their own.

Yes! Like I said, there are always a few exceptions. :)

I always tell my candidates to apply directly. There are some scenarios when it does more harm than good to work with a recruiter… this is one of them. The rare exception would be if it’s a confidential role because they are looking to replace someone, so they don’t want to post it.

There are some recruiters who service in-house roles, but not like law firm roles. Good law firm recruiters shop attorneys around till they find a firm that is a fit. In-house recruiters have their handful of openings and shop those around till they find the right attorney. Think of them more like the very worst law firm recruiters, who can only help you if they have a job posting in-hand that matches your resume.

like

This is very true. And I would also add that, unless they have the exclusive search for an unposted in house role, it can do more harm than good to have them submit you rather than self-submitting.

It depends. I got in house interviews through external recruiters, but I think this is more common in funds/asset management.

Yea it all comes down to whether it’s a posted role or not. Or if it’s an extremely niche background they need and they haven’t had any good applicants apply directly.

Hi, been stuck in the contract analysis/review cycle. I have asked a few recruiters how to make a lateral move into in-house. They told me to focus on contract management, which I have been doing for the past year. Now that I have, are there any sites besides “jobscan” that I can use to make sure my resume fits the job descriptions? Does anybody know any recruiters that could help me, as well?
