First interview at a biglaw firm. Just graduated and want to pursue transactional areas, no prior experience. I feel like I’m a risk of a hire in their eyes so any advice?

If you pass the bar you should work as a lawyer, thats my 2¢ anyways…can’t imagine the frustration of being stuck as a paralegal with a JD and having passed the bar.

I know that satellite offices of v100 firms have been hiring 3Ls for various transactional practices this year, so maybe try that?

Why would you be a “risk hire”?

I’m a student who sits for the bar exam in feb. Position is for a paralegal for now. They see no atny positions opening up soon so want to know if I’ll jump ship once I pass. I also live an hour away from the actual location but had prior interests in moving. Not until next year though.

I mean wouldn’t you jump ship after you pass? Honest question. Seems like a logical thing for them to think! I can’t really offer advice outside of that but best of luck!

Hi, I applied for a BFSI domain consultant position at TCS through Linkedin. Next day two people took my interview and said they are good to go with my profile. I might have one more tech round and HR will contact. After 4-5 days HR sent Ibegin link to create my profile and update details. Then it's been 3 weeks no other update. Whenever I contact the person who took my interview he keep saying its in process please wait. Is it normal procedure in TCS? How long usually takes.

I have my first case study presentation interview coming up in 2 weeks. I have never done this type of interview. I was told the case study details would be emailed to me 3 days before my interview date and I must create a PowerPoint presentation and email it the morning of my interview. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! I’m in the IT industry and position is with another government agency. Thx!

Cleared Accenture Skill interview by answering almost all the questions and received congratulatory mail for HR round and submitting all documents. Then after a week received a call from HR saying that due to some technical issue, the skills round will happen again and an online assessment was set up. In the assessment, questions which were not directly related to the profile were asked and then a rejection mail was received. Does this happen a lot?

I was recently offered a Zoom interview. The school had 10 interview slots for me to choose from. Three were one day this week and the rest are next week. I chose the first time slot available. Should I have waited until one of the last slots so I was fresher on their mind when choosing a candidate? I am just sitting here stressing out until I here something. Also, do interviewers still appreciate a hand written thank you for the interview?

Three job interviews with a company, last one creating a marketing plan and presenting to marketing VP. I received good feedback from him. Three days later recruiter wants to give me a call and “give an update”. Schedules it after 2 days. This morning cancels last minute as they are having “internal discussions”. I’m really annoyed and tired. Thoughts?

I joined in Accenture as level 8. Prior to joining, I was apporached by a project, and they seemed to not convince with my lack of knowledge about the role hence they dropped me even after contacting couple of times. Now I have got call from another one and they also seem to be not fully sure because my last role was very different. My question is how difficult is it to get a project in Accenture? Will this interviews continue? Also, what are the chances of me getting a suitable role?

At Deloitte now. laid off last year while on medical leave. Landed a new job with the help of a senior mentor and vouched for me not knowing my medical limitations. I just had to take sick leave again on the first project out of the gate. Dr is recommending 40 hours a week which will not fit the requirements of my director role. I feel like I need to switch roles to a non client facing role to be realistic in my health limitations. How do I make the switch and have the convo with w my mentor?

Here to vent a little: I’m really sick of how freezing office buildings are. I see nearly everyone in sweaters when it’s in the 90s outside! I just wish it could be set at a reasonable temp. I try to set the thermostat in my office where I have to push it to 90 degrees & I still barely get it to be at 70. By the time it does warm up the day is over&next morning I walk into a 60 degree office. I know it’s silly&you can’t please everyone but it’s also silly to run a space heater in the summer
