Are there layoffs happening in SSIR? As per news, there are issues with Samsung Foundry yield and there might be layoffs happening?

The severance package at Meta for laid off employees almost makes it nice to be laid off depending on what your personal situation is….. personally wouldn’t mind getting 4+ months of full pay to reset and think about what’s next 😬

Just curious what is (if any) the severance pay in case you get laid off from your firm due to a market slowdown.

Still in a pandemic. Hiring freezes are still in place. Seeing a lot of local businesses go under. Do you think things will turn around in September or get worse? Do you think there will be more layoffs or terms “due to performance” and more businesses lost?

So as we were the first to get hit with COVID in NY, we are seeing declines in numbers now. Travelers are cut short of their contract, our hours are getting cut, and staffs are laid off. Got a call yesterday from HR that now staffs need to file for unemployment to compensate for the lost hours. We risked our lives for this fight, now they are letting us go. Shit’s fucked.

I heard from my head that there is a lot of slowdown in VW Germany... There is Hiring freeze, level freeze and all ... And soon that will spillover to india. So be prepared for very less hikes in coming cycle :( Also automotive sector in general is struggling with tesla laying off 10% workforce recently. Maybe time to make a move? What do you say fishes?

Didn't have top grades, wasn't on law review. Worked at a midsize firm and was laid off in march-- have about 3 years experience in a hot practice area. Have been applying and had some interviews at larger shops but nothing has come of it. I'm still applying to roles (not many out there) in my area but coming to the realization based on number of larger firm rejection letter that I may not find a role. I had call with the HR for he position based out of Mumbai everything in interview and they are ready to share the offer. however, I quoted for 10 lakhs and they said for fixed pay of 8.75.
Although, i checked on Google as well average pay they are giving is 9.7 lakh
So should I accept the offer as per their negotiation or shall positively tell them why 10 lakh is justified?

Love how BS credit score is. Got my score up to 800 last month only to go on vacation so my credit utilization went up to 8% due to the increased spending and my score dropped 35 points because I didn’t immediately pay the balance after charging the purchases. I always pay my balance in full each month and have never missed a payment, how is 8% credit utilization determined to be that big of a risk that my score got immediately wrecked, I don’t understand
