Are there people on the bowl who have been unemployed for more than 6 months? If yes, how have job searching and response rates from hiring managers been looking for you? I feel completely lost and have no hope of finding a job. Here looking for some motivation and a reason to feel differently.

It's not going to change it's self, so I'm going to change it

Yes, I’ve been unemployed for over six months, and while the job search has been tough with low response rates from hiring managers, I've found that networking and reaching out to industry contacts often lead to unexpected opportunities. Remember, persistence is key; many people experience setbacks before landing their ideal role, so keep pushing forward and stay connected!

Yes. I have been unemployed for almost a year and a half. Sad face. And it is not due to a lack of trying on my part. I have made it my FT job, looking for a job. It's a tough market out there, and it's really starting to get disheartening.
However, I did finally start to get a few call backs in the last few weeks. So that was awesome! Had a few first round interviews. Unfortunately, I don't think it'll advanced to a second round. But it's a step in the right direction,

I know it's tough. Hugs to you.. but stay strong, stay committed. It can only go up from here.

I told my boss about my ADHD in confidence because I was looking for a small accommodation (working from home x2 a week). I got it, but now I lowkey feel like she told other people in the office. I'm not sure if I'm being paranoid but someone I'm friendly with in HR has been acting weird since Monday, which is when I told my boss. Would she have to tell HR legally? What should I do?

I have not been brought up religious but I am beginning to think, I’d like to have faith in something. Doesn’t need to be dogmatic, but having a foundational belief in good things to come is probably essential and for someone like me who needs to work so hard to be happy, I wonder if being a part of a spiritual group can help. I feel like I’m not learning anymore. At least not anything I can transfer to industry. All I know is tons of general info and I’m sort of wondering what I should do. Should I go to Big 4 for a year doing M&A tax, do corporate tax at Big 4…. I seriously don’t know. Looking at industry jobs has changed my perspective on my knowledge

I’ve been at my company for 10+ years. I’m not happy with the culture but have flexibility I enjoy, seniority for the time I’ve been here, and pays well. An new job opportunity came up as a Tax Manager but in a different industry which could expand my skillset in different ways, but is not as flexible and the pay is 20k lower. If I stay, I will be Director in few years. What will look better on a resume in the future, continued growth in 1 company or experience in more than 1 company?

I feel like I need a career coach because I am considering switching jobs but I don’t know where to go or where to start. I feel really overwhelmed and don’t know what I’m qualified for. And then always worried another job could be worse than the one I’m in now. Am I the only one like this? Where do you start? I can look at job postings and all but idk what I want to do long term. Especially with WFH I feel like there’s absolutely no networking or anyone to talk to outside of my team

Need advice: do you tell your manager that you’re unhappy or do you just leave?

I’m being taken advantage of with being thrown so much work and really don’t see my salary increasing to be in line with my coworkers doing similar work. I’m a consistent high performer - management reviews tell me that much.

My coworker did mention to the manager that they’re not being paid well for the work they do, and our manager took it personally and told them they’re ungrateful 🥲
