Hi Sharks, I am asked to sign the offer letter. It's kind of an agreement between me and the company for accepting the offer and compensation numbers. Of course It doesn't have statments like I have to join the company on signing this. My question is that 1. If I get a better offer can I go and ask them to revise the offer? 2. Can I decide not to join the company? Will there be any legal consequences? Have you ever been asked to sign the offer? Boeing Tata Consultancy Wipro Capgemini Cognizant

Read the article and not just the headline
It is pay + benefits. It is a recent deal, so you won’t see that in glassdoor.
Hope your boyfriend is not a white collar worker. Driving a ups truck for 8-10 hrs a day is not as easy as it seems
Cool.
I would still NOT equate doing manual work growing up to driving a ups truck for 8-10 hours a week, rain or shine. Unless you did that before.
The thing is you can’t start as a ups driver you have to put in a couple years as package handler or some other entry level job at UPS and then you get to drive. And you basically work all year around when you start. Not really a lot of days off.
Perfect for someone who’s relatively healthy and don’t want to spend too much time with their family lol.
To add additional color: this is true and these shifts are typically from 3:45am - 9:30am from my experience.

Buckees gas station pays more (225k 😉)
I think I’m 5-6 years it will reach that for all inclusive and full time
No it won't
The $170k figure is salary plus benefits and will be reached after 5 years of progressive increases from current salary+benefits of $145k.
Average driver salary today is $95k according to UPS. Under the new contract it will rise to about 112k after five years. Perhaps more if salary to benefit ratio changes.
Basically, the drivers are getting a 3.4% increase for the next 5 years. Solid. Not as exciting of a headline though.
UPS in general is a very good company to work for. Drivers work extremely hard especially around the holidays. But they also retire early with a pretty fat retirement.
It is a high paced environment. I was a pre-load supervisor so had it much easier.
Maybe at top pay, working 20 hours OT a week, every week.
