As a black woman, do you guys feel obligated in a sense that everything you do has to be for the black community? I started a doula business called The Natal Network LLC I created it for everyone, but I feel that every time I step into a platform or make connections with other businesses, I am always the representative for Black people which is fine because I love being black and I do want to invest in my community, but at the same time I am not black-exclusive.

Married to a crazy rich girlfriend and it's the worst experience of my life. She can afford anything, flying first class everywhere, wears all branded stuff and she doesnt have to work for life. I am working very hard to provide for family and I am still not able to add any value to her life and she's been distancing herself. Does anyone else constantly get mistaken for a nurse? I get it, I'm 5'4 and Black and work in pediatrics, but the assumption and casual racism is kind of ridiculous when the actual nurse has just told you that the doctor's coming and then I walk in the door. Doesn't really help when I'm one of the only Black on-call physicians. Annoying.

Have you ever been racially discriminated against in a personal healthcare situation/not at work? While you were ill or in the hospital? Obviously horrible when it happens to anyone but it takes the cake for me when white people in healthcare discriminate about Black people when they don't know they work in the same field and know how they should be treated.
