The fact that our country can send 8 BILLION dollars to Ukraine but can't find funding for the water crisis in Jackson, Mississippi is embarrassing.

Can’t and won’t are two different things. If Jackson, Mississippi was a predominantly white area this situation would be unfolding differently.

THanks for that correction!

And, btw, is anyone actually accounting for how those billions are being spent??? I don't understand it. We need to get our own house in order before we start shipping money we don't have to other countries.

Lol @vogue

The American government has different priorities. They would gladly fund a war they have nothing to gain from than helping their own citizens who are suffering. Tragic

Its so sad. Those are our tax dollars hard at work.

You can say that again. We have our own problems here in the states and we are sending money to other countries. It literally blows my mind.

Many of our states are in a severe water crisis or will be soon. Very afraid that in the near future only those with money have access to water.

That's crazy! I have nothing against helping Ukraine but this country also needs help. This is also unacceptable considering the amount of taxes we pay annually.

And unfortunately some people are okay with it.

Smh it's crazy

Woah! 8 billion dollars is a crazy number! I can't even start to fathom how money that is.

The government really needs to get their priorities straight. Seems to me, they're ony doing this for show and to brag. Ridiculous.

Has anyone moved away from NY and successfully resigned from the NY bar? What are the consequences if you just don’t pay? The requirements are insane to officially “resign” - draft a motion, pay a fee, send proof of service - I honestly do not know what this nonsense means, I’m not a litigator for a reason. Is there someone I can pay to do it? Should I just pay the $375 to stay active to avoid this nightmare?

Do companies sometimes offer "gifts of appreciation" if you're not selected for a merit increase? My manager randomly called me to let me know I was chosen for the "gift" this year bc of my "hard work & dedication", except now I'm learning other colleagues are receiving actual merits.
I mean it's possible that I may receive a merit, but I feel like I won't considering my manager never brought it up & the dept update made it sound like those receiving it should know by now.

What was the hardest class year for you? I used to think first year was by far the hardest but now I’m a third year and I’m really feeling the pressure to step up. I work in finance and at this point I’m expected to handle closing documents, manage first years, draft some portions of major docs, etc. I feel like I’m always frazzled, constantly second guessing if I handled something correctly and anxious to answer calls from clients/OC. The worst part is I think people can tell I’m a mess....

Fellow introverts...can I only advance in my career if I take on a leadership role? The thought of this terrifies me. My current boss hasn't exactly given me the confidence that would reassure me that I'm leadership material. He constantly questions my design choices, which I'm able to defend. It doesn't help that he always presents outdated ideas and throws UX out the window. I know that I know my stuff and keep up with best practices. I have 4+ years experience but am treated as entry level.
