I hope most of you are aware that the Holy See barely recognizes SSPX sacraments as valid
then there is the TLM or Traditional Latin Mass ( TLM) or Usus Antiquior that was the liturgy that was performed for over 2000 years that shaped most of the Saints and Catholic doctrine and dogma. Most dioceses around the United States offer only the "Novus Ordo" mass. To go to a latin mass you should search for a traditional priestly society such as the SSPX, FSSP, or ISkCP that offer full parish life according to 1962 missal and the traditional latin mass. This ancient liturgy is true Catholicism and Novus Ordo or modern masses that have been instituted since the Vatican 2 council in 1962 have only diluted the faith and destroyed Catholicism.
Also the sermon (homily if Novus Ordo) is said in englis where the priest will make announcement and recite the epistle and gospel and english and explain the significane of today mass)
They are in an Irregular status, the Holy see has approved confessions and marriages from the society as valid. Please research more.
The society is a devout group of Catholics. You question them yet continue to accept the abuses of the modern church.
Individuals should make their own judgement on the SSPX.
Perhaps I’m a bit different than most...but with all of the ridiculous and shameful liturgical abuses that I’ve seen in MANY Novus Ordo Masses. I’m expected to even consider:
I can go to what amounts to a scandal on the Catholic Faith (novus ordo)...where priests and laity conduct themselves with careless irreverence...and receive Valid Sacraments....
Yet, I have to wonder about the validity of Sacraments at an SSPX Parish with validly ordained Priests, which carefully observe and treasure the deposit of Faith as it was handed down to us for generations?
Something doesn’t make sense here ...
And it reeks of modernist agenda.
The issue is a lot of Catholics that have grown up in the church from the 80s to present day do not have any solid understanding of the Catholic faith if they were brought up in the post vatican 2 church (novus ordo) mass. Most 18 - 35 year old parishioners are not attending mass. They did not receive any proper Cathechism or instruction on the faith because it has been diluted.
I hope all Roman Rite Catholics learn more about the Traditional Latin Mass of the Roman Rite and how it can restore and refresh your belief in the Catholic church by reading the Council of Trent, studying the encyclicals, googling the difference between Novus Ordo Mass and Traditional Latin Mass.
Research the Priestly societies that offer the Latin Mass such as ICRSS, FSSP and SSPX.
Get books on the Vatican 2 council and see the negative impact it has had on our faith, closing churches.
