It’s not. It’s certainly not easy (depending on the wedding itself) but so much of it is how you and your partner approach it. We had things go wrong and we made an effort to not let it get to us. Also, getting a wedding planner or someone who can help is big. Best piece of advice I got was to make wedding planning fun/a date night—we would open wine and order pizza and plan together
That sounds fun for sure, Maybe I'll try that with my fiance haha
The worst part of wedding planning is family dynamics. If you can navigate and minimize those, you’ll be fine.
Talk about it! So many opinions, so many egos to massage
I did not enjoy the experience, but I also had a limited budget, so I did a lot of shopping around and DIY.
I used a venue that did linens, food etc. Florist took all the decorations . Part of the duties of the Day of person was to put all of my stuff... signs etc into bins, extra popper, sogn in book, cards, etc. They had a check list of everything for set up and then to put up. Then family took the bins. I had to nothing day of other than get married. If at all possible arrange your life this way

I’ve been using this & WeddingWire, but I’ll still hire a coordinator to be the contact person & put out any fires on my wedding day. 🤓 Also, my agency friends treat their wedding like a campaign launch with a budget, timeline and checklist. 📝
Thank you for the recommendation! I'll definitely look into it.

Some people have never planned a 10 person dinner party, and then jump in with no plan, no budget and listen to too many people who have never done it and have no clue. It's a big event. The analogy of a product launch is valid.
It can be fun, it can keep you up late, it can drivy you crazy....but that is mostly on you.
If you are used to planning gcomplex projects... like set design, you will be fine. And a lot of what goes into a wedding is visual. Your dress, bridesmaids' dresses, flowers, venue layout. Assume you will enjoy it and you are more likely to do so.
That’s how it felt every time I was MOH. Planning my wedding was fun and easy because I was more invested and decided not to sweat the small stuff
