You add the piece of work. You say the award it won in the write up. You add the award to your LinkedIn. You wait for the money to start flying in. You buy the khakis. You get the girls.
Honestly most people just put the award and don’t specify the category
Just include the entire project and say you were part of the team.
I wouldn’t bother to include it, unless it was specific to something you did in the realm of design impact.
A script I wrote for a documentary won an Emmy for a local PBS station. The script was only a part of the overall production. My work set up the premise and gave the filmmakers a blueprint to work from. I don’t take full credit for the success of the video or audio or music. But I still say I’m an Emmy-winning writer when the opportunity arises. And I include “Emmy” in my obligatory list of awards. You did good work. Let people know.
Do recruiters or agencies really check or care?
Just be transparent about what you worked on and your involvement. Include the part you worked on, your role, and say the campaign went on to win X,Y,Z awards.
I probably wouldn’t present the whole campaign (because when it inevitably gets back to prospective employers, it will look like you are trying to deceive them) - although maybe there’s a way to show the case study if you are clear about your role. Like if you put the pieces you worked on at the top of the page, and say these were part of this larger campaign and show the case study, that might work.
I’d offer the opposite advice. Be vague and put the whole campaign. Say you won the award. Only be detailed if they ask the question “what was your role.” Play the game.
Put the work in your portfolio. List the awards. Indicate your contribution.
Companies like to see how the work did in the award circuit. I’m not sure how that’s evaluated for designers though.

I know a designer who was credited on a big campaign because he did one little thing that didn’t matter at all and he has been blasting all his social accounts with award postings for a whole year. We all laugh with him.
Rising Star
Just include it.
