I got a job offer at GSA in Washington DC for their pathway program from GS9-GS12. I currently work in a private company and wanted to switch to federal government. The reason I wanted to switch is to get good person for my family because I'm still in the Reserve and would be able to buy time for my retirement. Hello, I am in USI GES tax at DUSI. I love my job but not my team and mgmt anymore. I'm a performer and I'm dumped with work of 2 ppl while others are searching for work. I am burned out.

I resigned and accepted a job with EY GDS with a huge pay bump that DUSI can't match but I also gave up my potential promotion for 2023.

I've been feeling bad about putting my papers down and letting go off my promotion but I am really tired. I took up this job as an escape.

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? If so, were you able to negotiate a percentage of the consulting fee? Or was it a bump in salary during the project?

How do I negotiate for a higher starting level? I have 5 years of experience and they told me I would be either L4/L5 but now I’m hearing it’s between L3/L4. I love google and I want to work here but I don’t think I could come in at L3. This is for SWE and onsites went very well

Fellow enterprise tech sales fish, I’m interested to hear your perspective. I’ve been in a rut lately and seriously considering leaving sales. I think it’s primarily fueled by one thing:
After a 6 mo cycle I closed a large deal (4x the average deal size) prior to receiving delayed 2022 comp plans. The deal counts as a 2022 deal. On last years comp plan it would’ve paid out at 10%. This year it pays out at a measly 4%.

How do you/have you navigated your way through and out of these situations?

I am trying to justify house buying in HCOL city. The house cost is minimum 1.4m .monthly mortgage would be at least 7k(with just around 2k principal) rest goes to either int,tax.
