However, I have resigned from Genpact on August 2022 so what would be the Gap duration boundaries for rejoin or duration of rejoin for exemployees?Genpact

Why aren’t you interested in PE/other buyside? Much of corpdev is similar, just generally less demanding hours.
Thanks for the clarification. In that case, your easiest path to CD is likely with some banking background. However, it may take 2-3 years in order for you to actually get enough negotiation experience to be able to run a deal from prospecting to closing.
I went the less common route: 5-8 YOE in my industry in high-level strategy role, attended law school at night, undergrad degree in business.
Moved into CD internally working with CEO and VP of CD as the lead/mentor for me.
Our industry is heavily regulated, so having a law degree and being able to run much of the diligence, permitting, and negotiation is very helpful.
