Audit to risk assurance at PWC, as a first year. Is this move possible? Plan on applying, don’t have a CPA but I am interested in getting my CISA

Definitely possible. What office?

like

Possible, but you will start as a new hire (don’t expect your partial year at Deloitte to count for anything). Also, get your CPA even if you go to RA. It will pay dividends down the road.

like

You’d come in as an experienced associate. I’ve never seen anyone but students come in as associates.

helpful

To be more specific process assurance within the risk assurance division

It’s an experienced associate position, but I’m only less than one year in the job

Hopefully I can get it. It asks for 1 year min of IT audit experience....

But would they accept a person with 9-10 months as an experienced hire?

Along with no CPA as of now...

Possible. Solid audit experience would translate well into both IT audit and internal audit. Likely you could catch up to peers in year.

Depends on what resources are in audit and what is needed in RA. If your market is understaffed then it might be awhile. They also look at your snapshots and ratings because they only want high performers. Trying to make the move myself but our market is so short staffed my coach made it sound like it wasn’t going to happen this year after a year of planning the move with HR :/

Any move is impacted by the needs of the new group and less by the needs of the old group. You are allowed to apply against posted roles. Speak to your TC.

Does anyone have a similar experience? I interviewed with recruiters from two of "Big 4". Both interviews went well, and I was told the recruiters will submit my resume to the partners and senior managers for the next interviews. 3 weeks later, I received the rejection letters without the next interview. I wonder why the partners even not bothered to interview me. If it matters, I am a CPA with 3 years non-PA experience and applied for experienced associate positions. I appreciate any insights.

I have two job offers from start-up companies:

Option 1 - well known fintech company and about to go IPO. Will be doing corporate tax. Probably will turn into hybrid of WFH/coming into the office.

Option 2 - series A (been around about 3 years). Tax operation with high possibility of being exposed to other areas in accounting and finance of the company. Fully remote.

Compensation from both companies are the same. I would appreciate some advice on which option would you choose and why.
